Chicago Public Radio recently visited the Nightmare on Elm Street set at the City Methodist Church in Gary, Indiana. You can listen to the broadcast or read the transcript here. Also below is a picture of the inside of the abandoned church. Photo by David Schalliol.

In what looks like a scene involving a pre-burned Freddy Krueger JoBlo.com published a few pictures of Jackie Earle Haley stalking some children on the playground in the new Elm Street. Sorry about the awful watermarks, blame JoBlo!

Joan Philo Casting in Chicago is looking for "special extras" for the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake on June 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Pay close attention because they ask for "18 to 27, [women] who are comfortable working topless in a tasteful pool party scene." Interesting... The full casting call is below.

Here is an interview of Brad Fuller and Andrew Form talking about the upcoming A Nightmare on Elm Street remake courtesy of IGN.com. I think it may be a bit old since they're sitting in front of a Friday the 13th poster, but it is the video where they say Robert Englund did not want to reprise his role as Freddy even though Englund told Horror Yearbook otherwise.

Variety announced that Friday Night Lights' Connie Britton has been cast to play Nancy's mom, Marge Thompson, in A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010.

The 42-year-old actress has done mostly TV including 24, The West Wing and Spin City.

I should note that it is unknown if she will be called "Marge" in the remake, but that was the character's name in the original Elm Street.

Producer Brad Fuller published his first update about A Nightmare on Elm Street on his blog, and included this picture of the Springwood Police cruiser. Check out what he had to say about the film's progress below.

So last night was one that I won't forget. We've been shooting in Chicago for two weeks and I've got some great stories to tell, but last night was the first time we filmed Freddy - the first time that we saw Jackie with all his wardrobe and make-up.

It was insane.
