Warner Bros. announced today that the original A Nightmare on Elm Street will hit Blu-ray on April 6th, 2010. Almost a month before the Platinum Dunes' remake hits theaters on April 30.

Producer Brad Fuller addressed the "rumors" surrounding the Elm Street reshoots on the official Platinum Dunes' Blog yesterday.

"While many of you are enjoying a Christmas break I am working everyday on Elm Street. I have read all the rumors and want to make sure that you have the facts."

Re-shoots can sometimes mean bad news for a movie for a lot of different reasons; the studio didn't like the final product, the test marketing went bad and so on... And now a new casting call discovered by Spoiler TV suggests that Samuel Bayer's Elm Street is heading back to shoot some additional scenes. What do you think, is there trouble on Elm Street? Today we have three new stills from NoES 2010. Two of them look like better quality versions of screen grabs from the trailer, but the other appears to be something fresh.

Kellan Lutz recently told About.com that A Nightmare on Elm Street will be "scary."

"It's really cool to be a part of something that now, since all our minds are so corrupted with blood, guts and gore, that this generation, it takes something special to scare our generation now. It's revamped. And where 10 years ago, someone just knocking on the door, you're like "Oh, w-who is that?" You know, what Nightmare on Elm Street is gonna show, it's scary. If you guys haven't seen the trailer, you know, how it's shot and the things that you will see from the movie will scare you. And it's a great psychological thriller."

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) made Entertainment Weekly's 20 Scariest Movies of All Time list, published as part of a 2009 Halloween Special that also featured Wes Craven: 10 that shook ME up (see below) and the 20 top horror films since '89.

Actress Connie Britton plays Nancy's mom in the upcoming A Nightmare on Elm Street remake, and recently she talked to the New York Post about the film. Here is what she had to say:
