I found this YouTube video that claims that the trailer for the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake will be shown in theaters before Jennifer's Body on September 18, 2009. The person who posted the video provided this link as proof. It shows a "Warner Bros. Trailer Request" page with the Elm Street trailer attached to Megan Fox's new movie. I will keep you updated when I learn more.

The Examiner.com recently released an A-to-Z list of movies that deal with dreams and altered states of consciousness. Unfortunately our favorite foreign Elm Street "remake" Mahakaal the Monster did not make the list, but Dreamscape, and A Nightmare on Elm Street did.

Things have been pretty quiet ever since Platinum Dunes released their A Nightmare on Elm Street one-sheet and first teaser picture of Freddy Krueger at this year's Comic-Con. They have been keeping things under tight wraps, including Jackie Earle Haley, who they transported in a darkened van back and forth to the set. To make sure no curious onlookers caught a glimpse of the new Krueger, they covered him in dark robes and umbrellas while escorting him to the closed shoots.

The debate rages on! Do you prefer the funny, one-liner spouting Freddy of Elm Street 4,5 and 6, or the more serious, "scary" Krueger of parts 1 and 2 (with Dream Warriors being the transitional point)? Stuart Heritage of the Guardian UK seems to be less than happy with Jackie Earle Haley's more "serious approach" to the character.

That's the news according to Brad Fuller's blog. Those who were at Comic-Con 2009 were treated to what has been alleged as an "incredible" teaser trailer/footage from Nightmare on Elm Street 2010. Fuller says:

"Our film comes out on April 30th. That is 9 months away - a really, really long time in the movie business. If they released the trailer now, it would surely be forgotten a few months from now, and then what? This amazing teaser would have not had the impact that it should."

Here is the video of Jackie Earle Haley talking at the Elm Street Comic Con panel that has been floating around YouTube. If it is eventually pulled you can read some of his choice quotes here.

A close-up photo of Jackie Earle Haley's makeup from A Nightmare on Elm Street has been proven a fake by the website IconsofFright. The picture that popped up yesterday, is just a photoshopped still of Haley from the film The Children. Check out the before and after below.

Below are some quotes published by Horror-Movies.ca from the Nightmare on Elm Street panel at the San Diego Comic Con.

Jackie Earle Haley on playing Freddy

"I thought it would be really interesting giving him a Scottish accent. Not sure why. Think it works though. No, I think it’s definitely a scary process trying to step into the shoes of Robert Englund who has owned this character for decades. He’s done a brilliant job with it. His embodiment, his performance is what makes Freddy who he is."
