Here is a clip from Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy documentary via ShockTillYouDrop.com. The two-disc DVD arrives on May 4. Order your copy here.

The official website for the Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy documentary launched a few days ago, but I still have not been able to find an official release date. The original press release said "spring of 2010," and I assume they are aiming for an April release, to take advantage of the remake arriving in theaters on April 30th.

The original press release also promised hours of footage, and that it would feature a documentary made by Heather Langenkamp.

In addition to the A Nightmare on Elm Street Blu-ray being released on April 6th, we will also see a "new" box set containing all the original films plus Freddy vs Jason. I highly doubt anything in the sets will be different but a guy can dream. The box art might as well be a giant middle finger to fans as they use a picture of what is clearly Jackie Earle Haley instead of Robert Englund. No other specs as of yet, but we'll keep you posted.

The makers of the documentary Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy have been very busy since my last post. So busy it is not worth me trying to keep up with the constant updates.

Mark Patton (Jesse Walsh) talked to Dread Central before he sat down for his Never Sleep Again interview. Originally the producers of the documentary were having trouble finding Patton, who left Hollywood shortly after Freddy's Revenge, but they finally tracked him down in Mexico and brought him to L.A.. Here is his interview w/DC:

The makers of the new documentary, The Elm Street Legacy, have not interviewed any of the huge names from the franchise yet (e.g. Wes Craven, Robert Englund), but they have completed filming with the never aging John Saxon, Jsu Garcia aka Rod Lane, and a few New Nightmare alumni.

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) made Entertainment Weekly's 20 Scariest Movies of All Time list, published as part of a 2009 Halloween Special that also featured Wes Craven: 10 that shook ME up (see below) and the 20 top horror films since '89.

Yahoo.com just published an article on the "Top Five Highest-Grossing Horror Franchises," and our good friend Freddy Krueger made the list at #4! For the entire Nightmare box office history film-by-film click here.
