Video blogger, Johnswackyworld, started a campaign to save the "real" Elm Street house, the only problem, it may not be the real house!

The house in question resides on Elm Street in Potsdam, New York. Some people claim it is the house that inspired Wes Craven's film, because at one time he was a professor at Potsdam's Clarkson University. He also helped some students make a horror spoof called Pandora's Experimentia there. The only problem, according to Cinematical.com, Craven has denied that the house had anything to do with Elm Street.

From Boxofficemojo.com:

Iron Man 2 opened with an estimated $133.6 million this weekend, and "accounted for nearly three quarters of overall business, while last weekend's top grosser, A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010), predictably fell into the abyss as horror movies often do. The slasher remake bled 72 percent to an estimated $9.2 million, bringing its total to $48.5 million in ten days. Its drop was steeper than Freddy Vs. Jason and Halloween (2007) (each was off 64 percent), but smaller than Friday the 13th (2009), which had an 80 percent crash."

Warner distribution president Dan Fellman told The Wrap, that A Nightmare on Elm Street's $30 million take this weekend "is the largest horror opening in the April-May corridor, and it just proves there’s a lot left in the franchise," insinuating there will be a sequel even though there is no planned story or direction yet.

Horror websites are so desperate to scoop each other, they would probably publish a picture of you in a Freddy mask if you told them it was real, and an EXCLUSIVE!!!! However, the newest picture of Freddy floating around the interwebs seems to be from a screen shot of the trailer. Using photoshop, webhead731 from the Superhero Hype message board, was able to give us a closer and cleaner look at Jackie Earle Haley's Freddy Krueger.

Hopping on the bandwagon is a pretty easy thing to do. Twilight is a great example. There are parodies, TV rip-offs, even porn! But Burger King is the only one I can think of that is killing two birds with one stone. Burger King is starting the whole "Open Late" concept in their restaurants very soon and they're using horror icons to promote it! Dubai-based ad agency Tonic was asked to help make an ad campaign and there answer was simple: Killers got to eat. And since they do their stalking in the evening, no brainer. Below you will find Freddy in the drive thru.

I know this is not Elm Street news but I figured some Freddy fans would be excited to see Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson back together again! The original director and writer of the Scream franchise are back for Scream 4 in theaters April 12, 2011.

Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courtney Cox-Arquette also return.

While it has been alleged that Jackie Earle Haley has signed a three picture deal to play Freddy Krueger, the director of the yet to be released first film, Samuel Bayer, has said he will not come back for another stroll down Elm Street. When interviewed by /Film, Bayer said:

MySpace released a new poster for A Nightmare on Elm Street today. It looks a lot like the teaser we were given a few months back, but Freddy is a little clearer and we get less glove action. I'm still trying to understand why Krueger's other hand isn't burnt. As previously mentioned, a new trailer will debut in front of The Crazies. It will also debut on MySpace a day early.
