While it has been alleged that Jackie Earle Haley has signed a three picture deal to play Freddy Krueger, the director of the yet to be released first film, Samuel Bayer, has said he will not come back for another stroll down Elm Street. When interviewed by /Film, Bayer said:
"I really hope the film does well. I will not be involved in a sequel ... I don’t want to have my next movie be a horror movie. I'm already looking at stuff and I think I'm probably going to do a -- it might be an action movie, or there’s a comic book they want to make into a film I’m very attracted to. But I think I'm going to move on and let someone else handle the next one, and it'll be great."
What does this mean? Does Bayer not have faith in his own movie, or is he quitting while he is ahead? We will find our answer on April 30 when A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010 is released in theatres.
Don't be too fast about your decision Bay, because Rob Zombie could possibly take it (i hope not!). So....just sleep on it ;)
I must be one of the biggest Freddy fans around, and I'm tellin ya, Adam Lamberts "SleepWalker" MUST BE A TRACK ON THE NEW NIGHTMARE MOVIE!!!! OMG, what a voice, and what a PERFECT SONG for this REMAKE!!!!!

thats definitely real!
Sounds like he doesn't want to be stuck directing certain types of movies. Bet you one thing, this movie makes a ton of money and he gets "persuaded" and "inspired" to do the next. Either way I can't wait for this to come out.
