Freddy Krueger returns in A Nightmare on Elm Street, a contemporary re-imagining of the horror classic. A group of surburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another…but when they sleep, there is no escape.
In theaters April 30, 2010.
Seriously, Freddy ain't Freddy without that walk. Robert Englund can't be outdone. Not saying the new guy is trying to but, certain attributes are missing. They should've kept the make up slightly similar. I keep getting 30 Days of Night in my head when that boy says "Oh God". That entire line could have been left out or Freddy could have replied like he did before, flashing his claws saying "NO THIS, IS GOD". There was something creepy about the way Freddy walked, slightly with his chest out, his voice was deeper and creepier.Oh well, we weren't part of production so I guess we'll just have to enjoy it!!
Sleep well!!
I am a huge Nightmare fan but i will keep an open mind. Lets not forget that the original was made over 25 years ago and makeup has came a long way, it looks like Freddy is supposed to actually appear as he was burned!! Look at What was done with Friday the 13th and Halloween. This will be its own not to be compared to the Wes Craven original but a Michael Bay vision.
The only thing I may have a problem with is the new Freddy... He just looks too short and his head looks too big for his body. But this trailer looks great!
Theres a scene in the trailer where the kid says "Oh God" In the boiler room and Freddy is behind him and say "Why are you scared? I haven't even cut you yet?" I think he should say "I'm here". (in line with the "This is God" in the original") ( may be off w/ the exact words but yeah)
What do you all think about some of the lines already heard from Freddy?
When the guy says "Oh God" Freddy then says "No - Just Me" and its a few more seconds and into another clip when freddy says "Why are you Screaming I haven't even cut you yet"
thank you. I realized this shortly after I posted this lol
idk I don't think the line fits the scene. I just thought its a good opportunity to insert the "this is God" line from the original.
Ye wen he goes remember me in the classroom he should of sed hi kris then he should say this wont hurt one little bit lol
I didn't watch the trailer online. I'm going to wait to see it when I see The Crazies.
Thats when I saw it, obviously. Its a different experience then watching online. AMAZING.
I saw Trailer No. 2 on the big screen and WOW, it looks great!! :D
Looks good and it seems that it could stand on it's own as a new Nightmare legacy for a new generation and shouldn't be held too close in comparison to the original. This is a new take on the franchise as stated above which means the make up, acting, dream sequences and story will not be exactly the same and being a die hard fan myself, I will watch this film with an open mind and without comparing this and the original too close just as I did with the re-imagining of Friday the 13th. There will be similarities and references and sight gags as seen in the two trailers and that's what alot of fans like and want and we should respect this start of a new series and only supply an input after we see this and any sequels and try to suggest new stories and criticisms where they're due on poor acting and the such but only after we've actually seen the films in question.
god i cant wait. i love what they did with this movie. but i have my doubts with freddy's look and voice... but whatever im still a nightmare fan through and through.
This trailer is way better than the first. They changed Freddy's a voice a bit which was needed. I can tell the dream sequences are going to be fantastic. I can not wait to see this movie!!!

I CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE, LOOKS GOOD! HELL YEAH - LONG LIVE FREDDY!
oh god this looks soooooo good! i dont care what anyone says. JEH makes a great freddy! I'm so excited for this movie. that trailer was phenomenal.
The trailer is really flashy and exciting, and better than the first one, but the make-up is still atrociously awful. There are screen caps of it elsewhere. It's just bizarre and weird and not at all scary. Definitley needs to be changes for future films. They may of tweaked the voice too, but it's still not up to snuff.
I am a die hard fan of all of the Nightmare movies and I must say the guy that they chose to play Freddy is not at all up to par. Freddy makes this movie work. Robert England is Freddy and this guys makeup and all looks NOTHING AT ALL LIKE FREDDY! If it wasn't for my boyfriend wanting to see this movie so bad I wouldnt go. I have this feeling in my gut that it is just going to trash the original. We will see I guess. My opinion some things should just be left alone.
This actually looks pretty good. I am a ittle concerned about that one part with freddy coming out of the wall, it looks really CGI. but other then that I am really looking forward to seeing this on theatres.
