first and foremost....JEH did not do a good job with freddy,the makeup was horrible...he looked like a fucking alien.The voice was even worse...he sounded like a fag. The only reason they are even remaking or reimagining old horror movies is because they can't come up with anything of their own.Third and this is the one that pisses me off.....micheal bay put in the credits that Robert Shaye was the exec. producer...that's a load of shit and as far as craven being pleased with the movie....try again.If you watch never sleep again...the documentary craven even states that he's not happy with the movie and thinks it should be left alone.Robert Shaye even said on the documentary that he had nothing to do with the remake.Micheal Bay is just remaking movies so that he can make his name even bigger...it's all for money.I for once would like to see him come up with something of his own that sells massivley like the remakes do.They need to start making their own shit and leave the classics alone.if your going to do it.....DO IT RIGHT!!!!!!I mean come on they changed every fucking thing in the movie....remake it don't change it to make it your own.Just like transformers.....he changed and renamed some of the transformers to suit his own needs for the movie. So FUCK MICHEAL BAY AND PLATINUM DUNES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can love it... or you can hate it... but really... who cares who plays the role of Freddie? Yeah... I love Robert Englund in the role... he's who everyone is used to... but I'd kill or die for the chance to play the part... who wouldn't? Let's all give it a chance... the advancements in cgi technology could only improve on the orginal, making the nightmare more realistic. Robert will ALWAYS be the original Freddie... no one can take that away from him or us. Just keep in mind that when Rob Zombie made his adaptation of the Halloween movies and they were 10 times better than the original. Let's see what the "new school" can do with a proven classic... I can hardly wait.

I think this movie looks like it's going to be scary. That trailer kinda freaked me out. Freddy's new look isnt as bad as I thought it would be. I think this will be a good movie.
The new Nightmare on Elm St. Is going to be a good movie, or at least for the fans of the original Nightmare on Elm St. A lot of poeple are trashing the remake citing the fact that Freddy isn't going to be played by Robert Englund, the original Krueger. But the fact is these very poeple haven't even seen the movie yet, and they are forgetting that film technology and techniques have advanced a great deal since the 80's. The Original Nightmare on Elm St., to say the least, would be considered a B-Rated movie, with a B-Rated budget, and at the time, B- Rated actors. But now in 2010, film technology has advanced such a great deal that a computer can turn any B-rated film, into a 2 or 3 star film at least. Poeple shouldn't be so hasty as to judge a movie, especially without having seen it first. Yes, Robert Englund did a great job with Freddy, but that's not to say that this remake is not going to be any good just because he isn't in it. If you're a fan of the original, go see the movie despite what others may be saying about it, and judge for yourself. It may just turn to be the best one yet.

cant wait!!!!!!!! its soooooooooo close i can feel it. freddy's starting to invade MY dreams again!!!!!! this will truly be a good movie and every die hard fan of this series should go and see it. bring the young ones too!!!!!
So people keep complaining about this platinum dunes remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street and comparing it to the work they did on Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th. TCM wasnt that great, true but F13 was actually decent with the exception of the annoying signature Michael Bay Transformers lighting that didnt even make Shia LaBeoufs acting work at all but then again nothing could help him but that's another story. If you'd paid attention to the trailers and news of the Nightmare remake then you'd know that it"s quite entertaining for most fans who just love the concept of Freddy and who understand the he changes to him, i mean how many times in the old series did Freddy's make-up and vice change? quite a few. Also you'd know that there is possibly a cameo of Robert Englund in the film as a Doctor who also works at the high school who specializes in dreams despite what you've been told about no cameo and that's from Englund's mouth but we'll have to see if it's true since he hasn't mentioned anything else along those lines in a while. If you dont like how this film looks or how it's plot sounds then you're probably not a fan for true fans are excited about a new incarnation of Freddy and to see him on the big screen again no matter the look or sound. The only thing that may suck is a few scenes with these newer actors but overall this film seems great, especially from this clip and it allows us to have our old dreamstalking boogeyman back for an anxious audience of fans of Freddy and an unknowing new audince although everyone knows Freddy, he's like santa clause or the easter bunny as it's been said.

I agree with you, "Freddy's back...... again", this movie is gonna kick ass. I gather this clip is reminiscent of the sleep therapy office from the original film. Instead to pulling out the hat, she pulls out a piece of his sweater.
I do hope, though that Freddy has some good lines in this film. Not the one liners from the original series (which just got embarrassing after a while)- but some great lines that add a little emotion to Freddy. I really hope his being quiet isnt going to follow the lines of Jason or Michael- who had no lines.
I like the new way they are taking the dreams. Being half awake and half asleep- thus whatever happens in the dream world translates into what happens in the real world. My concern, is how is Nancy going to explain the busted merchandise to the shop owner? YOU BREAK YOU BUY!! NO ONE WANT SLASHED BABY POWDER!!
*sigh* This movie is gonna kick some serious booty! Loving the new glove! Looks more gritty and like metal bones with the removal of the back plate and addition of the metacarpal pieces. I wonder how that will effect the overall strength of the piece. The replica I made from the initial film can take one hell of a beating, but Im a bit concerned about the stress tolerance. He's raking that thing pretty hard against those pipes. Best hope he dont dull the blades out before he gets to use them...

What you are missing is that we cant come up with new boogeymen like they did in the past. People today are desensitized to the things that used to scare us as kids. Halloween, exorcist, Nightmare, Child's Play. These were the pinnacle of scary. Unfortunately, kids today are not scared by this stuff. Horror films today are more about the amount of gore they can put on screen. Saw was great- but it was hardly scary. Now, the goal is not to scare the audience, but to disturb them. Show the worst possible thing you can on screen... ass...blood...guts. There is no limit.
Originality is all but gone these days. Keep in mind, during the 70's and 80's, all the writers and directors (and the actors) were wigged out on Cocaine and Heroine. Sorry to say, those got the creative juices flowing to find the freakiest crap imaginable. You just dont get that these days. Hollywood has cleaned up. In addition, its less about the acting ability these days and more about how hot or sexy the performers are.
Girls go gaa gaa for talentless morons like Orlando Bloom. And guys (including myself) will spend money just to watch Megan Fox show off some cleavage. Can they act? HELL NO! But that doesnt matter, does it? Gone are the days where an actor got a role because they were damn good.
