Exciting news to kick off the month courtesy of Bloody-Disgusting.com! The new Freddy Krueger, Jackie Earle Haley recently confirmed that he has signed a three picture deal with Platinum Dunes to bring us at least two more Nightmare on Elm Street films in addition to the one being released in April 2010. While the new film, which is still shooting, is a "reboot", it is clear that the two new films will bring new stories into the fold.
This new information comes shortly after Rooney Mara (Nancy) announced that she has signed on for two sequels. While Haley's role in future films is evident, Mara's participation in the franchise after the first film has not been discussed.
For the people that are hateing on the new nightmare on elm street?
you people need to realize that this movie is not directed twoards the older generation it is directed twoards the new generationit is not going to be a remake it is going to be new movie with a lot of similarities
and stop complaining about the new face it is supposed to look like burnt flesh not the regular freddy face
yes it sucks not to have robert englund play as freddy but he is old
Robert is the 1 and only Freddy no new Freddy
You've got to be more open to new things. Yes, Robert Englund made Freddy legendary. But, if you're going to make a big deal out of a replacement, you're a completely ignorant douchebag.
I love Robert Englund's portrayal of this character. He will always be the one who made Freddy popular,,,,,,,,,,, but Jackie Earle Haley is going to take this character to new heights we've never dreamed of,,,,,,,,,or were just to scared to dream of,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I agree, Robert cant do that role and be horror anymore. or scary , they need a new look and take, and i hope they do a rewind like zombie did with Holloween showing how mike ended up and why he did what e did ,
