Warner distribution president Dan Fellman told The Wrap, that A Nightmare on Elm Street's $30 million take this weekend "is the largest horror opening in the April-May corridor, and it just proves there’s a lot left in the franchise," insinuating there will be a sequel even though there is no planned story or direction yet.

Producer Brad Fuller added that he is open to the idea of an Elm Steert 2 in 3-D!

"We think that 3D movies have to be designed and written as such. If Eric Heisserer and Wesley Strick came to us with a Nightmare script that is for a 3D movie, we’d be fools not to make it.”

We all know what happened the last time Freddy went 3D! Lets hope there is no repeat of Freddy's Dead.
