Freddy Krueger is the bastard son of one hundred maniacs. His mother, Amanda Krueger (aka Sister Mary Helena) was accidentally locked inside a wing of Westin Hills for the criminally insane. She was raped repeatedly before she was found. Nine months later, she gave birth to Fredrick Charles Krueger. Raised by an abusive stepfather and constantly ridiculed by his peers, Krueger began using pain as a release. Eventually, he murdered his stepfather with a straight razor and began a new life in Springwood with his wife Loretta. They would have one daughter, Katherine.

Marge Thompson is a drunk. It's that simple. As the mother of Nancy, nurturing is just not what she does. Drinking to escape (mentally anyway) what she and the rest of the Elm Street parents did to Fred Krueger is the only thing she lives for. Denial consumes her when Nancy tries to tell her about her dreams. Marge eventually confesses what she helped do to Krueger and attempts to redeem herself. Sadly, she was one of Krueger's final victims....for now.

Lt. Donald Thompson does not like unsolved murders. Especially ones that his daughter, Nancy, is mixed up in. Thompson simply wants to solve the case of Tina Gray’s murder, and make sure Nancy gets a good night‘s rest. Between his daughter slowly breaking down, his alcoholic wife, and a haunted past that’s about to come back from the dead, frankly, Donald is being pulled in too many directions to really be effective anywhere.

Everyone in Springwood was not as nice and clean cut as our heroine, Nancy. Rod Lane was the bad boy of Elm Street. He was also the on again, off again apple of Tina Gray’s eye. He was in the room with Tina when she was murdered by Freddy, and in a moment fright, thought it best to leave the crime scene. Springwood’s Police Department, led by Nancy’s father, Donald, arrested him while he was pleading his case to her.

Glen Lantz (1962-1981) is the boyfriend of Nancy Thompson played by Johnny Depp.

When Nancy's drunk mother locks her in her own home, Nancy must watch Lantz die at the hands of Freddy, helplessly, from her window across the street. Check out the clip below.

Every hero needs an arch-nemesis and vice versa, and Nacy Thompson was Freddy's first and most famous. Not only was she the first "kid" to take on Kreuger, she also appeared in the most films. While not as strong as Alice Johnson, she was resourceful and the first to figure out how to use Freddy's nightmares against him -- knowledge she passed on to the Dream Warriors before finally being killed in part three. Played by Heather Langenkamp.

Girlfriend of Glen Lantz.
