That's the news according to Brad Fuller's blog. Those who were at Comic-Con 2009 were treated to what has been alleged as an "incredible" teaser trailer/footage from Nightmare on Elm Street 2010. Fuller says:
"Our film comes out on April 30th. That is 9 months away - a really, really long time in the movie business. If they released the trailer now, it would surely be forgotten a few months from now, and then what? This amazing teaser would have not had the impact that it should."
This probably means we will not see a teaser in front of Rob Zombie's Halloween II as most have speculated. Perhaps it will be with one of the many horror films/sequels/reboots hitting theaters in October.
I am so annoyed about the fact that Night Mare on Elm Street had been remade. It is in fact a classic horror film from 80s - 90s. And who gives a crap about the trailer. God everyone, don't get too excited. It would not be the same with John Saxon! No one could take his title.
I'm sorry, but if you don't give us a trailer soon, THEN we'll lose interest. You gotta realize that Nightmare fans are a devout following and right now, you're under heavy criticism for even attempting this whole project. Give the skeptics and fans something to chew on until the film comes out. Otherwise, stop giving us useless tidbits on this site. We don't want interviews. We don't want concepts or storylines. We want a trailer. THEN give us the extras.
I completely agree. If you want the skeptics to believe that there is actually going to be a remake, then put the video up on the site. I didn't know about the remake until I looked up a friggen BANNED commercial on youtube. There is already the audio to the movie on youtube, but people actually need to see to believe. With out this, Nightmare fans will lose intrest in the remake, and it won't be as popular as other movies. I'm only 15 and I'm begging my friend who's turning 18 this year to take me to see it when it comes out. If you don't put it up, then not many people will go see the movie because of your damn stubberness. If you start showing in for a couple of days, then stop then start showing it again closer to the date, hell that'd be enough for me.
I don't think thats good business sense not coming out with a trailer sooner.
Good business sense would be to release a trailer ASAP to get people talking, get the word spread. If I had not been a Freddy fan I would not know about this remake. Everyone I tell about it had no clue a remaken was even coming out!
Get a trailer up sometime in Aug in the theaters, those people will go and tell more people, then those people will tell more people, ect. By the time it comes out millions will be expecting it, instead of just thousands, meaning more pre-ticket sales. Gets the word out early rather then latter. Movies make more money when expected and known rather then unexpected and not known.
Very bad move IMO
