It deffinetely wasn't terrible. He had me convinced that he was using real footage from the film. Good job. Allthough I am not hard to please, I must say that was really neat. I wonder what films he has worked on?
I read that this guy is a special effects artist and has worked on a few movies. I can't see him playing freddy but I would definitely let him direct it and at the very least let him be involved in some way. Directors are responsible for transferring the vision of the script to the screen and you have to have imagination and vision and he clearly has it. Which is more than I can say for Samual Bayer.
